Let your Christ light shine!

August 2007

"I am only one; but still I am one.
I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do the something I can do."

~ Edward Everett Hale

You are a spiritual being and you have power. What gives you power is the knowledge that you are a child of God, God-like, and that nothing in this world can really harm you. When you start doubting your true identity, you lose your power.

What else could you be but a child of God? You know how life can be magical, you experienced those moments when you were bursting with creativity and inspiration, bubbling with joy, walking two inches above the ground. Flying with the birds, hugging the skies... when you had a feeling that you could do anything, and that the world is yours. When it all made sense, and it was good to be alive.

In those moments, it is as if a diamond shined from your heart, and your face shined, and you became filled with light. You became a small sun. Sun upon this world.

That sun, that light we sometimes feel shining through us and other people, is of God. That light is what they call Holy Spirit, a sign that God is present.

Every time we touch others with true love and compassion, we increase our light. Every time we sing in praise of God, we add to that light. Every time we remember who we truly are, our sun becomes stronger. And we light up the world around us.

Our true Being is Sun/Son. Each of us can be the fullness of the Son of God, if we follow in Jesus' footsteps. Our power is in that Sonship, in accepting our divine inheritance and living it - Being the Christ. This is how we are the light of the world.

Sometimes we will be rejected and ridiculed, for the light of Christ disturbs those who want to remain in darkness and profit from that darkness. But let that not stop you from Being, from shining the light of truth and separating truth from lie.

Jesus said "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me." (John 5:30)

What is the judgment Jesus is talking about? It is the righteous judgment, the judgment of Christ, which discerns what is God's reality and what is lie and illusion. By being one with God's will, we can discern truth from lie, good fruits from bad. We don't need to love everything around us unconditionally, but only that what is aligned with God's reality. We don't need to love darkness, but we can help those caught in darkness and hold the higher vision for them - the vision that they too will accept the Christ as their true Being.
